I grew up in England before moving to the US 12 years ago. Growing up in the UK in the late 70s and 80s introduced me to the Mod revival scene and a love of scooters, scooter fashion and music. This enthusiasm was later accelerated by my friendship with John who introduced me to scooter obsession, scooter rallies and custom scoots. A huge hello to you John wherever you are. Ride safe!
I spent a couple of years in the UK running around on a Series 3 Lambretta. But to be honest, it spent more time in various states of repair than lengthy time on the road. Beautiful scoot though!
NYC Scootering started as a blog to publish my journey to getting on two wheels from the moment I first entered the DMV in the US to get my American motorcycle license. It’s since expanded to cover all things scoot in the five boroughs.
I live in the East Village, and commute daily on my Red Vespa PX150e or Mustard Lambretta Jet 200. Honk if you see me.
I reside in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn. A recording engineer and studio owner, I fell in love with vintage Vespas in a predictable fashion, through the movie Quadrophenia. After a brief trip to Italy, the temptation was too great, and immediately upon my return, I purchased my very first scooter, a 1962 Vespa VNB. As a member of the loose-knit NY Scooter club, I enjoy the camaraderie and the chance to ‘talk shop’ that scooter ownership affords, and of course, the chance to describe my experiences and exploits here on the pages of NYCscootering.com.
