Armadillo: Now Free Shipping to The USA
Well here’s a pleasant surprise: Armadillo Scooter Wear, one of just a small handful of scooter dedicated (and much appreciated) outwear/protective wear providers are back with a new website and some tweaks and updates to their collection of men’s and women’s wear.
Armadillo have proven along with other contemporaries such as Corrazo, Go-Go Gear, and the great (but almost impossible to get in the USA) Tucano Urbano that it IS possible to stay dry, warm, and padded on a scooter this winter without looking like you’ve just stepped off a crotch rocket. I would even go so far as to say, “stylish.”
I’ve been wearing my (older version) Armadillo Parka for the past couple of years now without incident, minus a minor pocket tear, and you can read my review of their jacket here. And while their clothing has since gone through some revisions, rest assured that their jackets all retain the key elements that helped make them successful in the first place: D3O elbow and shoulder armor, breathable material, water and wind proof fabrics, sealed seams, and MP3 waterproof pockets. I also appreciate the nod to some classic scooter culture with the naming of their updated line. How many names can you spot?
Along with the updates to the collection comes the new website, which features pricing in US Dollars, AU Dollars, and UK Sterling. What’s more, as far as pricing is concerned, what you see is what you get. Armadillo will ship free via track-able DHL to most countries including to us here in the good ole’ United States. Hoodies and Jackets start in the $200 range, but for that (based on my personal experiences) you’ll get clothing that’ll last, keep you warm, and dry, and provide you with at least some modicum of road armor should you fail to stay rubber side down this Winter.
